Y2-K Spitfire Construction - Update

Y2-K SpitfireIt has been a few months since we’ve updated the progress on the Y2-K Spitfire, we offer this series of pictures taken near the end of October to help provide some insight into the progress that has taken place over the summer. We have had many requests from our supporters around the world for updated information on our project, we are still unable to provide details regarding our new partnership and the plans for the Spitfire but we hope to be able to make them public in the very near future. In the meantime we hope these pictures will satisfy some of your curiosity about construction developments that are still ongoing at the restoration hangar.

It is expected that the big announcement we have all been waiting for will be made soon and details will be announced here on this website as well in the national media.

Visitors continued to visit the Spitfire hangar over the summer on Saturdays, many changes have been made to improve the restoration hangar in anticipation of a more aggressive build schedule, new work benches have been added, more efficient parts lockers and storage have been built, all part of phase I, phase 2, the completion phase will soon to be announced..

If you’re planning a trip to the hangar for a peek at Canada’s most significant aviation project check with the Comox Air Force Museum for the hours the restoration hanger will be open, generally its open Saturday from noon until 15:00 hrs. We welcome you to our project and to visit the Comox Air Force Museum Museum.
