Well, fall is definitely upon us here on the West Coast of Canada. The rainy season has begun. With the ending of summer and the beginning of fall we are heading back to work on the project. Within the next week our AME will be back to work for 2.5 days a week working on the Empennage. As of now he will be working until the end of December. We hope that between now and then we raise enough money to be able to extend his contract until the May time frame. Very little has occurred at the hangar over the last month we are still open for visitors to view the project, but you can tell the summer vacation time is gone as the numbers of visitors are slowly decreasing. One item that did occur was a special day on 29 September when we had 5 Spitfire pilots at the hangar for a press meet and so as to be able to sign our Y2K Print "Touché". We also had members from the Royal Canadian Legion Pacific Command come over as well to view the project. A great time was had by all. The pilots that came by were Jim O'Toole, Stocky Edwards, Art Sager, John Pomietlarz and Duke Warren.
These pilots, along with 6 others, will be signing the Y2K Spitfire Print "Touché". Once all the signatures are collected this print will be available for a minimum donation of $195 plus shipping costs. Along with the print will come a certificate of authenticity and a short profile of all the pilots who signed the print. You can read more about this print and how to acquire it on our Multiple Signed Spitfire Print Page. Until next time, have a great fall and remember stock up on candies for the kids Halloween is just around the corner. Thanks again for your time and support Pat Murphy “The Y2-K Spitfire will Fly Again" |
